Beach Themed Nursery for Baby Girl Sessions

There sure are a lot of decisions to make when you are expecting! One thing I had a lot of fun planning was the nursery, but yet it was also really stressful because Garrett was SO not ready to make everything real or want to spend money on decorating. So I tried to come up with some inexpensive, yet still cute and not too crazy girly ideas. Her room is REALLY small so it was crazy how fast it filled up and was hard to find small enough furniture. Here is my Pinterest board that I used to gather all the ideas. And below are pictures of how it turned out.

This picture is one I took of a baby sea turtle we saw on the beach in San Jose Del Cabo Mexico.

Babymoon, Portlandia and Crafts for Baby Girl

Phew, we have been busy lately! Doing all fun things though! We are officially in the third trimester now, and I am really feeling much more tired and easily winded going up stairs or hills when walking. My bump is showing much more now and she is kicking and moving around all the time! I have had fun finding some fun crafts to make for her, pics below. And Garrett and I had a great time on our short, but fun babymoon in Palm Dessert. :)

This onesie project was by far my favorite! The opportunities are endless! And it was not very hard to get them to turn out pretty good! I found the stencils and the tutorial here
Here is another cute project for a fall newborn I made for baby girl - crochet pumpkin hat. I hope to take a cute picture of her at the pumpkin patch wearing this little hat. :)

I had a trade show to go to for work in Palm Dessert during the week, so we added on a few extra nights and Garrett came with me for a couple days. The trade show was at La Quinta Resort in Palm Dessert. The resort is amazingly beautiful! 41 pools and all ground floor rooms with gorgeous views of the mountains.

It was SO hot during our stay. When we landed at the airport, it was 96 at 11:15 PM!! That is hot for a preggo lady!! But I survived.

After we got back from Palm Springs I got out the sewing machine and tested out this tutorial for how to make cute burp cloths and pacifier clips.
I also crocheted some cute booties and another beanie while watching tv or sitting in the sun with Garrett. :)

For the 4th of July we drove down to Portland with three of our friends and explored the city for the weekend.

On Sunday we drove about 30 minutes out of the city and checked out some of their wineries down there. It was beautiful! Garrett got to enjoy all the wine drinking, and I just had fun taking pictures at each of the wineries. A lot of them had a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood.

On our way home we drove the LONG way and tried to catch the sunset at Haystack Rock on Cannon beach. But when we got out there, it was all cloudy, so no sunset for us, just two extra hours of driving and a couple of pictures.

Beach Nursery theme started and bump photo update

Baby girl at 20 weeks.
For a pregnancy update, I have been busy planning the nursery. We really wanted to get it finished by the end of June so that we can have free weekends in the heat of the summer. And I have a feeling I won't be feeling up to many big projects as I get bigger and it gets warmer out.
I narrowed down my ideas to a beach theme. Garrett and I love to travel and be at the beach so we thought it fit us well. Garrett also didn't want a really girly looking nursery so this was a great option. I used Pinterest a lot for ideas.

Here is a link to the Pinterest board I have been adding to as I find ideas:

So far we have ordered the dresser, side table and shelf to match an espresso colored crib that we are borrowing from my brother and sister-in-law. We also ordered a sheepskin rug, a couple of pillows and a pretty conch shell.

I painted the inside of her closet with ombre aqua circles to liven it up a little in there and tie the them together. I also copied the design to a little stool that my dad made for me when I was little.  You can see it in the bottom of the photo below. The teddy bear in her closet was the first gift Garrett gave me for our first Valentines day back in 2003 when I was 16!!

Here is a bump update from a couple weeks ago. I am 27 weeks today... which reminds me that i need to take another picture because it is sticking out a little more now. :)

I have also been crocheting some hats and booties for her. This is her first Seahawks hat for when we are watching the games this fall! Go Hawks! We will definitely be teaching her to say that asap when she starts talking.

I can't wait until we get to see her when she is born and see what she looks like. I have these pictures of Garrett and I up on our fridge from when we were little to compare.

We celebrated Father's day last weekend and Garrett got a bunch of cute onsies that he will have fun dressing her in.
